Last five things you probably didn’t know about CS Lewis (11-15)
- As a child, CS Lewis created an imaginary world with his brother, Warren, which included clothed animals.
- His brother gave him a toy garden made of moss & twigs on a biscuit lid. Lewis later indicated that this influenced his imaginings of heaven and (later) of Narnia.
- Had ravenous erotic lust for occultism as young man, ultimately found it unsatisfying.
- Used popular culture to examine spiritual issues in all his writing; and most tragic of all…
- Lewis died (aged 65) on same day as JFK was shot and so no-one paid any attention to this great writer’s passing.
